If you haven’t heard of Granny Square day it was founded by the amazing Susan Regalia in 2014 , who realised by us using instagram and posting squares it would resemble our own digital patchwork blanket! It caught on pretty quick and now it is a HUGE granny square digital love fest!

“A blanket is a gift of comfort and love,” says Susan. “When any of us view or contribute some of these granny squares, it’s as though we join in to a giant world hug with each other!”

This year Simply Crochet asked me to be an ambassador to the day along with 3 other amazing crochet designers @annaboos_house, @sweet_sharna and @barbertondaisy . We all will be sharing exclusive free Granny Square patterns on our blogs and posting lots on our intsa’s. PLUS Simply Crochet Mag have been working hard to bring you lots of tutorials, videos, freebies and more!

To join in with Granny square day all you have to do is whip up a square or dig out an exsisting one. Snap a pick of your square and crop it as close and as square as possible. Upload it to your Insta stories and remember to add the hashtag #grannysquareday2019 and your square will be added to the digital blanket. Then go search the #grannysquareday2019 hashtag and see all the amazing designs everyone has added!
