I LOVE a seasonal novelty and Halloween starts the festive autumn season! As much as I love Halloween i hate the waste, cheap disposable costumes are terrible for the workers having to make them and the environment from the plastic fabrics to the landfill they end up in!

This year use the odds and ends of your yarn stashes to make some easy and fabulous Fright night accessories!

PUMPKIN POMS EARRINGS

HOW TO:

STEP 1

Wrap Black for the nose (8 wraps) and mouth (10 wraps)

STEP 2

Cover left side with orange and on right side cover over nose but leave gap over mouth wraps. Fill 1/3rd of your pompom maker

STEP 3

Cover a light layer with your lighter shade of orange

STEP 4

Wrap your black for your eyes and give 3 more wraps to the left of your mouth section 

STEP 5

Cover over the rest of your pompom makers in your main orange untill full 

STEP 6

Cut

STEP 7

Your face in your pompom should be revealed. Tie and trim your pompom to shape, leaving the tails of your tie long.

STEP 8

Thread up your beads and earring hook.

STEP 9

Repeat so you have a pair.

SPIDER POM CROWN

HOW TO:

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

STEP 1

Wrap a small wedge to the right of your pompom maker to form pink mouth 

STEP 2

Fill your pompom holder with your yarn mix.

STEP 3

Put 4 Pipe-cleaners into the pompom maker hole half way (these will be your spiders legs) and cut your pompom.

STEP 4

Tie and trim your pompom.

STEP 5

Glue on your googly eyes and bend pipe-cleaners to form zigzag legs

STEP 6

Cut yourself a strip of Jersey yarn or use a head band and place your Pom spider .

STEP 7

Tie onto head band securing pompom and trim ends

STEP 8

Repeat steps on smaller pompom makers to make another spider and attach to finish off headband.

Go the extra mile and cover your hair in fake spiderweb to make the perfect den for your headpiece to sit on!
