M-I-Y PATTERNS

Hay guys! So last summer I started brewing up this project with the lovely Knitcraft team over at Hobbycraft and this week I finely get to share it with you all, which I'm SOOOO EXCITED ABOUT!!!

I teamed up with Knitcraft using their Cotton Blend DK yarns to make a capsule collection called Miami Memphis which works as a bit of a pre collection taster of the new 2018 Spots and Stripes collection which will be launching later this year. The ranges inspiration was originally sparked by the colour palette of the yarns, which come in a number of bright pastels immediately evoking Miami Art Deco architecture and Memphis Art work. The collection boasts both homeware and kidswear, the bold graphic design puts a modern twist on the traditional granny blanket with accompanying cushion set. I also put together a bright fun asymmetrical kids 2 piece romper and cardigan set which is totally cute and i want an adult version of it!!

I thought I would let you into my design process and give you a peak into my sketchbooks. I'm in love with Camille Walala she was also another massive inspiration for this design! I just wanted to make something really fun that took a twist on the traditional Granny Square and was really bold and graphic.

BUT the cushion is also in this months Mollie Makes (Issue 89) so if you can get your hands on that abroad you can whip your self up a piece!
