FASHION REVOLUTION FLOWER FIXER
Make yourself your very own Flower Patch Fixer! Perfect for covering up a stain or moth hole on your fave garment or just pimping up that piece that needs more love!
For Fashion Revolution Week I held a Zoom Workshop with @Fashionopenstudios and below you can find a worksheet to make your very own. (There will be the recording of the session too and I will add this to the post when it’s live.) Fashion Revlouton is a week which was formed over the Aniversary of the Rana Plaza Factory collapse and it’s focus is to think more deeply about our clothes, question brands, support garment workers saftey and promote positive change in the Fashion Industry.
For me, learning a craft is a small act we can do to become connected to our clothes better! Making pieces yourself is a bit like a veg patch- you probably won't grow all your food, but you really learn to appreciate what goes into each veg and you value it more. The same is with fashion, having an understanding of how your clothes are made, helps you realise what goes into them. Especially for crochet where there is NO machine and it's always by hand, it makes you question more! Plus you have the benifit of being able to customise pieces perfect for yourself and beable to fix them, so this really helps in a garments longevity!
I know crocheting won't save the world, but it's a act you can do to stay connected to your clothes!
So grab your hooks and get mending!
